Orange County and San Diego Business Journal Recognize Best Companies for County’s Economy, Workforce & Business
San Diego, CA (November 9, 2021) – For the third year in a row, Western Lighting and Energy Controls is thrilled to announce that it was named as one of the 2021 Best Places to Work in Orange County and San Diego. This is an incredible honor, as the Orange County and San Diego Business Journal designed the award to recognize the top businesses benefiting the county’s workforce and economy.
After receiving this privilege in 2019, when Western Lighting and Energy Controls first became an employee-owned company, and again in 2020 during the height of the COVID-19 Pandemic, Western Lighting & Energy Controls has continued to bring that excellence in the midst of returning to normalcy.
“It was a transitional period,” Matt Sedlock, Principal of Western Lighting and Energy Controls, explains, “we initially had to stop holding in-person customer events and team outings, and shift everything online. But people still showed up to these virtual events, we had that sense of community even if we couldn’t see each other in person.”

“It was great to see so many people come together in spite of the pandemic,” Jimm comments, “and now that things are slowly getting better, we’re focusing on bringing back these in-person events.”
